Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry - Board Certified in Psychiatry 

Norman S. Broudy, MD

Norman S. Broudy, MD, received both his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He completed his general psychiatry residency at the University of Chicago, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania's Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic and Hahnemann Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Dr. Broudy founded the Rosenblum Child & Adolescent Center in 1985 and served as its medical director until 2015.

Dr. Broudy is a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He is on staff at Wilmington Hospital, part of the Christiana Care Health System.

Peta Clarkson, MD
Board Certified in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry

Peta Clarkson, MD

Peta Clarkson, MD, has been with Broudy & Associates since 2005. She received both her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Following medical school, she came to the U.S. to complete both a general psychiatry residency and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Texas Health Science Center.

Dr. Clarkson is board certified in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is on staff at Wilmington Hospital, part of the Christiana Care Health System.

John A. DeFrate, MD
Board Certified in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry

John A. DeFrate, MD

A board certified psychiatrist, John A. DeFrate, MD, earned his undergraduate degree at the University of California in Berkley. He then moved to the east coast, where he completed his medical degree, psychiatry residency, and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

As a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Dr. DeFrate has served as secretary and treasurer for the Delaware Regional Chapter since 2003. He is on staff at Wilmington Hospital, part of the Christiana Care Health System.

Lara Jaradat, MD

Lara Jaradat, MD

Lara Jaradat, MD received her medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. She completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at the Mayo College of Medicine in Rochester, MN. She completed her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the Mayo College of Medicine. She is Board certified in both Adult and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and has experience working with adults and children. Dr. Jaradat worked at Quinco Behavioral Health and Columbus Hospital in Columbus, Indiana as well as DuPont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, DE. She joined Broudy and Associates in 2014. She is currently the president of the Delaware Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Nadeem Afzal, MD

Nadeem Afzal, MD

Nadeem Afzal, M.D received his Medical Degree from Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He moved to the United States and worked in different clinical settings before beginning his Psychiatry Residency training. He worked as a Research and Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Yale Trauma Research program and at the Emory Clinical Neurosciences Research Unit. He finished his Residency training at Delaware Psychiatric Center. He served as a Chief Resident during his 4th year of training. He recently joined the Broudy and Associates Practice. He also works with the adult and geriatric population at Rockford Center as a staff Psychiatrist. He is a member of the American Psychiatric Association.

Elijah Butler, LPC

Elijah Butler, a licensed professional counselor (LPC), has 20+ years of experience as a mental health provider. He holds multiple degrees, including a bachelor's degree in political science and masters degrees in counseling psychology and health care administration. He joined Broudy and Associates in 2013.

Elijah has provided mental health treatment in a variety of environments, including inpatient and outpatient settings, residential treatment facilities, and elementary and high schools. These opportunities have contributed to his extensive understanding, belief, and practice associated with psychotherapy.

Brian Callahan, LPC, CADC

Brian Callahan, LPC, CADC

Brian Callahan has been practicing as a licensed professional counselor specializing in alcohol and drug counseling since 2009. Brian is internationally certified to treat drug and alcohol addiction. He joined Broudy & Associates in 2012.

Brian treats adolescents and adults with substance abuse problems, providing therapy for families and couples. He has diverse experience with mental health and substance abuse, ranging from inpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment to individuals and families dealing with transitional issues. He helps adolescents, adults, and their families deal with depression, ADHD, anxiety, and substance abuse, including dually diagnosed adults.

Brian practices strength-based therapy and believes all people have the ability to heal, grow, and change when given the support they need.

J. Michael Dzuba, MSW, LCSW

J. Michael Dzuba, MSW, LCSW

Mike Dzuba holds an undergraduate degree in English from Temple University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania. 

Mike has had a wide range of experience with young children, adolescents, and adults. He spent 7 years at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic, where he worked extensively with families and children of all ages in a family therapy setting. Mike is experienced with adoptions and divorce, as well as a wide range of mental health issues including ADHD, learning disabilities, behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorders, and trauma. He is also experienced with mindfulness meditation, stress reduction techniques, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

Mike is a member of the Clinical Social Work Society of Delaware, the National Association of Social Workers, and the Academy of Social Workers.

Aileen Fink, PhD

Aileen Fink, PhD

Dr. Aileen Fink is a graduate of Drexel University, where she earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology. She also holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lehigh University. In addition, Dr. Fink completed an internship in pediatric psychology at the A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital. 

Dr. Fink has worked with patients in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment programs. In addition to her role with Broudy & Associates, she currently serves as the Director of Trauma Informed Care for the Delaware Children’s Department. 

Dr. Fink is an active member of the American Psychological Association and an affiliate member of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. She has expertise in the use of cognitive and behavioral approaches with children (age 4 and up), adolescents, and adults. Dr. Fink has had formal training in a number of evidence-based practices targeting the treatment of trauma and other anxiety problems, depression, and behavioral and neuro-developmental problems, including attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Gloria Fox, MS, LPCMH

Gloria Fox is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health & a National Certified Counselor. She also holds a Certificate from Widener University certifying work with trauma. She received her BA from the University Of Delaware and her Masters from Hahnemann University. She has been in Practice since 1995 and currently is practicing Brain-Based Mindfulness Treatment with adolescents and adults.

Daniel W. Hoover, PhD, ABPP

Daniel W. Hoover, PhD, ABPP

A board-certified clinical psychologist, Dr. Daniel Hoover earned a bachelor of arts in psychology at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, followed by a master of science and doctor of philosophy in clinical psychology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington.

In addition, Dr. Hoover completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical child psychology at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas. He has also served as senior psychologist at the internationally recognized Family Center at Kennedy Krieger Institute, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins located in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Hoover’s clinical interests include individual and family therapy, child and adult therapy, and treating autism spectrum disorders. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Academy of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.

Lori Jones, LCSW

Lori Jones, LCSW

Lori Jones graduated from Bryn Mawr College, Graduate School of Social Work and Research in 2002 with a master’s degree in social service (MSS). She became a licensed clinical social worker in 2004 and has been a family therapist at the Herman Rosenblum Adolescent Center at Wilmington Hospital since 2005. She joined Broudy & Associates in 2008.

Lori specializes in individual therapy for children and adolescents and their families.

Beth Krieger, LPCMH, LCDP, CADC

Beth Krieger, LPCMH, LCDP, CADC

Beth Krieger has been a certified alcohol and drug addiction counselor (CADC) since 1982 and a licensed professional counselor of mental health (LPCMH) since 1992. She became a licensed chemical dependency professional (LCDP) in 2005. 

Beth holds a bachelor of clinical psychology degree from the University of Virginia, and a master of counseling degree from the University of Delaware. Her training includes addiction education and treatment of trauma, eating disorders, crisis intervention, and case management. 

As a chemical dependency professional, Beth specializes in dual diagnosis (mental health and substance abuse) and parenting of substance abusers. She provides therapy for families, adolescents, and adults. She believes good care is the establishment of a supportive, non-judgmental, active relationship. It includes feedback, suggestion, education, and collaboration so the patient(s) can experience meaningful change in their lives.   

Beth is involved with the Delaware Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors as an instructor and Board of Directors member.  

Mladen A. Milic, PhD

Mladen A. Milic, PhD

Dr. Mladen Milic received his board certification in clinical psychiatry in 1986. He completed his bachelor of arts degree at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut and his PhD at Temple University in Philadelphia. 

Dr. Milic’s training includes inpatient and residential settings, and an adjunct faculty position at Drexel University. Through the Quager Peace Project, Dr. Milic was involved in the treatment and integration of students from different warring groups within Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia. He has been with Broudy & Associates since 1995. 

Dr. Milic provides individual, couples, and family therapy. He specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and bipolar disorders, with emphasis on interpersonal, cognitive, and behavioral approaches to therapy. 

Renee L. Murch, PhD
Clinical Psychologist

Renee L. Murch, PhD

Dr. Renee Murch has a Ph.D in psychology. She received her bachelor of arts from Hofstra University Hempstead in New York, New York, and both a master of arts and PhD from the University of Delaware in Newark. She completed an internship at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Murch sees children (6 years and older), adolescents, adults, and families. She treats patients with anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, faith-based issues, sexual identity crisis, Asperger syndrome, high-functioning autism, and other behavior and mood disorders. She practices cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and insight-oriented therapy.

Dr. Murch is a member of the American Psychological Association and Delaware Psychological Association.

Meg Myers, LCSW
Clinical Social Worker

Meg Myers, LCSW

Dr. Meg Myers has a doctorate degree in social work from University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in social work from West Chester University, and a bachelor’s of fine arts from Arcadia University. Dr. Myers has been working in direct practice with adolescents, individuals, and families since 2000.

Dr. Myers has experience with at-risk youth as a family therapist in a dual diagnosis partial hospitalization program, has facilitated bereavement groups for Hospice, worked as a custody mediator for the Chester County court system, counseled adolescences dealing with substance abuse issues in a high school setting, and as outpatient therapist working with children and their families. Dr. Myers also teaches advance practice courses as an adjunct professor in the MSW program at West Chester University.

Dr. Myers is also trained as a yoga instructor and has taught yoga, meditation, and mindfulness skills in clinical practice to offer clients alternative ways to self-soothe, self-regulate, and find alternatives to substance use and negative coping skills.

Malisa Shreve, LCSW

Malisa Shreve, LCSW

Malisa studied counseling at Villanova University and social work at Widener University. She has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1997. Her specialties include working with adults and elders with depression, PTSD, and anxiety. She also treats trauma and behavioral issues in children ages 6 and up. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, practicing mindfulness, family therapy and play therapy. Her goal is to empower individuals, families, and youth to take control of their destinies and function effectively by providing them with the needed skills to realize their goals through counseling, education, and motivation.

Diane H. Tait, LCSW

Diane H. Tait, LCSW

Diane Tait is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia, and her master of social work at the University of South Carolina.

After completing her bachelor’s degree, Diane worked as a child protective social worker in Ithaca, New York and later in adult foster care at Delaware Psychiatric Center. Realizing the need for further education, Diane returned to school and earned a master’s degree in social work. Since then she has worked in agency settings and private practice.

Diane works with children (5 years and up), adolescents, adults, and families. She is comfortable working with anxiety/panic, child/adult depression, bipolar disorder, and ADHD. Her approach to therapy is to start where the client is. She uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including stress reduction, relaxation exercises, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), resource tapping, emotional freedom techniques, redirecting negative thought patterns, and insight-oriented therapy.

Tom Vail, MC, LPC

Tom Vail has been a licensed professional counselor of mental health (LPCMH) at Broudy & Associates since 2000. He received his bachelor of arts degree and master of counseling degree from the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware. He is a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Tom specializes in family therapy, adolescents, and school-related issues. He believes in the healing power of healthy human relationships and how the acceptance of emotions creates well-being.

Mary-Brent Whipple, LCSW

Mary-Brent Whipple, LCSW

Mary-Brent Whipple became a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in 1982. She received her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and her graduate degree from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, Massachusetts. She joined Broudy and Associates in 2011. 

For over 30 years, Mary-Brent has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics for the developmentally disabled, community mental health centers, home health care, mental health agencies, schools, and private practice. Most of her current work is with adults, as well as adolescents and their parents, using a variety of treatment approaches. 

Mary-Brent's areas of expertise center around assessment and treatment of anxiety, depression, and bipolar mood disorders, life transitions, adult and child ADHD/autism spectrum disorders, organizational skills, and issues faced by the developmentally disabled and their families.

Dr. Belford has degrees from New York University, Alfred University and Novasoutheastern University, with professional licensure as a psychologist in Delaware and Florida. In a safe, compassionate environment, her style is collaborative in treating stress, depression, loss, panic, anxiety, and life transitions. Treatment approaches are eclectic, supportive, integrative and cognitive behavioral to replace destructive patterns with healthy ones. Populations treated are teens, adults and elders. Her goal is to use the unique strengths and resources of the client to feel less tense, worried and exhausted by learning tools for coping, problem solving and communication. During her thirty-five years of private practice, she is honored to have been allowed to enter her clients' private lives as a professional friend to help with the process of healing and change that is possible at any age.
