Frequently Asked Questions

NEW PATIENTS

How do I go about setting up my first appointment?

To make an appointment at Broudy and Associates, request an appointment online or call (302) 655-7110 ext. 221 . Please leave your name and daytime phone numbers including home, cell phone, work numbers and email address.

Do I need to obtain authorizations from my primary care physician?

You do not need authorizations from your PCP. However, you do need to contact your insurance company to find out if authorizations are required prior to your first visit.

Can I keep my appointment if I do not have my insurance card?

Yes, you may keep your appointment, however you will be responsible for payment in full at the time of service without proof of insurance coverage.

If I am under 18, can I come to my first appointment by myself?

If you are under the age of 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian on your first visit.

Do you submit claims to secondary insurance companies?

We will only bill your primary insurance company. You may submit an itemized statement to your secondary insurance company for reimbursement. However, you will be responsible for any coinsurance or co-payment at the time of service. 

With whom will my information be shared?

The privacy of all communications between a patient and their clinician is protected by law and can only be released with written permission from the patient.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

Do I have to use the Prescription Refill Request Form to request a prescription refill?

We prefer you to fill out our online prescription refill request. If you do not have access to a computer or mobile device, you may leave your request on our prescription phone line, ext 241. Please be sure to include:

  • Name of the patient and spelling
  • Date of birth
  • Number where you can be reached
  • Name of the medication and dosage with directions
  • Whether you will be picking up your written prescription or if we should mail it to your residence

Who do I contact to see if my prescription has been authorized?

Please contact your pharmacy directly to see if your prescription has been authorized.

How long does it take to get an authorization for my prescription?

Prescription authorization requests can take anywhere between one to seven business days.

BILLING & INSURANCE

What if you do not participate with my insurance “out-of-network”?

If we do not participate with your insurance, you may contact your insurance company to see if you are eligible for out-of-network benefits. If you are eligible, you can submit an itemized statement to your insurance company for reimbursement. However, you will be responsible for the full appointment fee at the time of service.

Out-of-network benefits are provided by some insurance companies that pay for providers who are not on their panel, but at reduced rates.

Will there be a charge for a missed appointment?

Yes, unless you provide 24 hours advanced notice of cancellation, the charge for the missed appointment will be billed to you. Insurance companies will not pay for missed appointments.

What types of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, personal checks, money orders, Visa, and MasterCard.

Is there a charge for returned checks?

Yes, there is a $30 charge for checks that are returned.
